ScholarshipsAWARDS FROM SCHOLARSHIP FUNDSJEF has funds for scholarships to individuals for undergraduate studies in the United States, undergraduate/graduate studies in Israel, and for participating in educational tours of Israel. Academic scholarships are awarded from two pools of funds, The Springfield Council of Jewish Women Scholarship (SCJW) Funds and the JEF Common Fund. Springfield Council of Jewish Women Scholarship Funds: The SCJW awards began with the National Council of Jewish Women, Springfield Chapter in 1943. In 1992 the funds were transferred to the Jewish Endowment Foundation. SCJW Scholarship Awards are available to all qualified students regardless of race, religion and gender. Applicants must be residents of Springfield, East Longmeadow, Longmeadow, Wilbraham, Hampden, Agawam or West Springfield. Scholarship recipients are chosen based on a combination of academic performance, financial need, and community involvement. JEF Common Fund Academic Scholarships: The JEF Common Fund Scholarships are available to Jewish students living in the Pioneer Valley of Western Massachusetts. Applicants for JEF Common Fund awards must complete the additional information section of the application. The deadline for applying for the 2021-2022 academic year is Friday, April 16, 2021 at 4 PM. MARCH OF THE LIVING SCHOLARSHIPS Totsy Foundation March of the Living Scholarship Fund. Established in 1996 by the Trustees of the Totsy Foundation, this fund provides scholarships to March of the Living participants who display leadership, commitment to Jewish values, and financial need.
